Aquatic entomologists of Japan and Korea agreed to organize the Aquatic Entomological Societies in East Asia (AESEA) at the Japanese Society of Aquatic Entomology in Matsumoto, Japan.

Members of the Chinese Society of Aquatic Entomology joined AESEA.
